Queensland's diverse destinations and iconic experiences play a vital role in delivering the vision for the tourism industry – to be consumer-led, experience-focused and destination-delivered.

Tourism is a $25 billion industry in Queensland, accounting for 7.8% of total Queensland Gross State Product (State Tourism Satellite Accounts 2016-17). Queensland has a total of 55,000 tourism related businesses with 54% of these located in regional areas. The industry supports 217,000 Queensland jobs across the state, with 20,000 additional tourism jobs forecast to be needed by 2020.
